Young Life Ministries is an organization that has been active for more than 60 years. It introduces teenagers to Jesus Christ and gives them an opportunity to gather, have fun, and hear the positive news about how God can be a part of their lives in terms they can understand. The focus of the program is to build strong relationships between adult Christians and teens. Although not officially affiliated with one particular church, Young Life does believe that church is a very important part of a close relationship with God. Staff and leaders are committed followers of Jesus Christ and come from many denominations. They encourage kids to become involved in the churches that are most famliar to their own families. If a family is not connected to a church, Young Life will offer suggestions when appropriate but, because they respect the faith and opinion of a young person's parents, they want that person to do the same.
