First Baptist Church of East Greenwich

Celebrating the presence of God in our time

Christians seeking a warm and accepting place to worship God have found a home at First Baptist Church of East Greenwich. As a dynamic congregation, we strive to incorporate both contemporary and traditional elements into a meaningful and enriching worship for our parishioners. Just as our historic sanctuary has been uniquely equipped to meet today’s congregational needs, so, too is our contemporary application of the traditional Christian gospel message. Our services reflect the true body of Christ as all are involved in services—clergy and laypeople, women and men, adults and children.

Visitors and first-time worshipers are always welcome. Many return for more inspiration and to enjoy the freedom and flexibility of participating in a church community in ways that are comfortable for them. Opportunities for involvement in ministries appropriate to individual abilities abound: Ideas for additional ministries are always welcomed. Our recently renovated building is fully accessible and wireless hearing devices are always available. Taped copies of the sermon are also available following services. See an usher if you would like to receive a copy.

Our family-friendly schedule allows children to begin their worship experience in church with their parents. After a children’s story all youth proceed to age-appropriate Sunday School classes while adults remain in the service. Nursery care is available for children under the age of three during services.

Worshipping in the American Baptist tradition, we focus on a Scripture message that addresses contemporary spiritual concerns. Our Sunday school curriculum is coordinated with the minister’s weekly sermon so that adults and children are studying the same lessons simultaneously, allowing for family discussion of the scriptures outside of church. After worship, adults are encouraged to gather for fellowship and informal ministry over coffee and goodies in our ‘Fellowship Café’ while students finish their classes.

Please join us for Worship service every Sunday at 9:30 am
Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month
